Mae is going to her first ever show next friday or the friday after. Have gradually brought her back into work after having Romi, and within the last week shes dried up. Been doing loads of lunging and flat work with her and shes been going like a dream, loads faster than before.

Anyway decide to pop her over a wee jump, was only 60cm but thought it would be a wee laugh if anything. She went and cleared it, hubby said she over jumped it, took her again and she cleared it again, took her over it about 7-8 times and each time she cleared it.

Oh i was a proud mummy!!! Mae has rarely been jumped and it wouldnt have been as big as that, she got really excited and boy did she leap. She got so excited the first time that all four feet left the ground at the same time!!

Told my friend about it who told me of a wee show nearby that i should take her to, so going to work hard and get her there. So i just cant wait, im excited and nervous, will let yous know how we get on, however im not expecting alot from her. It will be her first ever show, shes not used to alot of horses about and shes never been in an indoor arena before.

How did yous calm your nerves at your first show??

Wish you all the best,i am in the same boat, lol, had my boy years but the competition fear has stopped me going on

My friend suggested to me this morning that i try the back flower remedy, so going to give it a whirl and see how it goes.

We are renting out the arena to get her used to the arena and jumps.

My friend offered to take her in for the first week for me if nerves become too much. However the jumps arent that big, its more a training show, she would only be jumping wer 50cm cross poles to begin with and as our fitness grow we may go higher lol.
