In response to your question, Old dog I am happy to leave with my family members (in fact anyone that will have her!) if I am away (they can not ruin something that is already!) Plus they all know & love her faults, which helps! Mind some do seem to encourage them!

Quail is a different matter! I will not leave her with anyone! As a pup she came to work with me & slept under my desk allday. When I went away to 3day events she came with us to, bit of a pain but I would not trust to leave her with any of my family. As she is suppose to be a worker, they don't understand this though. Mind I seem to have done a good job of spoiling her!
Though hopefully going abroad this year, so in a right quandary. Do not want to kennel her as she will not toilet in a kennel regardless of how long she is in there.
Am thinking I will have to ask ex to look after her, who is the only person i would trust with my dogs whilst out of the country or away.
As he understands workers (got me into them & picked Quail as pup for me) Plus I am hoping that he may instal some training into her holiday! Wishfull thinking!
