My 2 year old Welsh Sec D is currently suffering in the mornings with a stiff front leg. As soon as he has stretched and started walking on it he is then fine. I have booked a physio to come and have a look at him but in the mean time I have put him on 'Super Codlivine - Supple Joint.'

I was just wondering if anyone had any views on this or maybe any other supplements I could possibly use as friend has suggusted Cortaflex.

Thanks

Naf Superflex liquid or the new 5 star super flex. Has both MSM and gluscosamine in it for joint repair and maintence. Honeys is currently on Superflex liq but thinking of swopping to the 5 star as its stronger. Cortaflex is also highly rated but a wee bit h'expensive!

Glucosamine supplements are usually used for older horses to either prevent wear and tear on joints, or to help already damaged joints. Your youngster is young to have joint problems - has your vet checked him out? If you are using a reputable physio, they should work under your vet's guidance. Any joint supplement should contain glucosamine and MSM.

Thanks for your help, i might give the 5 star a try

The vet has been out and cant find anything wrong and just hopes that the physio will help. It probably does not help that as soon as he is out of the yard he is fine and running round like a normal 2 year old. It just seems like where he has laid down to sleep he has got slightly set. But his stable is plenty big enough and he has amply bedding.

We are lucky that the Physio is our vets wife, so hopefully that should help.
