I would really appreciate your thoughts and recommendations on oil supplements.

I already give a joint supplement (Cortaflex HA) so only require this oil for condition and coat.

Any suggestions?

Supermarket sunflower oil - cheap and effective :)
Vegetable oil in supermarkets is almost always rapeseed oil, which I understand is not good for horses. I was recommended sunflower oil by my vet.

I'd recommend full fat cooked linseed meal. A mugful or two a day makes a wonderful difference to coat shine and coat condition. I buy a 20kg sack for £20 and it lasts months.

Ohh, handy info, thanks! Didn't realise this I must admit.

Thanks for that - I have gone for Linseed - cheers.

By the way - just in case any of you are interested - I have been hunting for a multi-vit lick for my Section A - little fatty does not have any feed to speak of (only a handful of safe and sound in the evening just to say thanks for being caught...) - so I was concerned about his vit intake - he is 2 - anyway after searching around I found a lo cal lick by Dengie - perfect. They do a respiratory one for coughs and a garlic one for flies...

I just know that if I had got him one of those molasses ones his white blaze would have been lost for all eternity!

Just thought you might like the info in case you have a fattie like me!

Oh, and the linseed oil is not for him!
