Ok .. Here goes , feed question , sorry

Having always had tb types, even as a a child, I know how to feed those..

However , got my first ' proPer pony this year , and he gets...

2 finger fulls of good doer a day
And
A haynet morning and night!!

I have been told

Am I right, if not, please feel free to recommend .

How is his weight? You can only judge the pony you have in front of you Is he in at night or out 24/7? Without seeing the pony, no, there is nothing wrong with the diet, but it would help to know a bit more

It's exactly the same as feeding a TB - if he's too fat, cut his feed down; if he's too thin, give him more!

Thanks Holly hocks, I am just getting soo paranoid ATM, so many people are telling me he is too fat

I don't think too fat, maybe chunky though .

He's very cute but if he looks like that at the moment then he needs to go on a diet asap!

He's gorgeous, really reminds me of a Welsh A called 'Tomboy' I used to know.. Hard to tell from the pics, he looks like he could have a bit of a belly

You will have to be careful that he doesn't put on any more weight though, and in some places the grass seems to be growing already If he is putting on the weight then you could consider soaking the hay for when he's in.

Rough guide is 1.5% bodyweight per day for weight loss, 2% for maintenance. This would include all he is having so grass as well. Just keep a check that his weight doesn't creep up without you noticing!

That picture is probably about right, he is on a ' starvstion' paddock and hay is soaked , and yet no weight lOSS ( however has lost a tiny bit since he came to us )

I would love to give just hay, but if he does not get feed, them he escapes
