Right ....

I emailled breeder about Finn (my new Ridgeback puppy) on Friday as when we went and chose him and put a deposit down I asked if I could leave a disposable camera with him so he could take "Growing up Pics" of my little boy. He said don't worry about the camera I will take some on my digital camera and send you a couple a week...

Well it's not been nearly 2 weeks and I have had no pics

... He said on friday that he would take some Monday/Tuesday and as of yet I still haven't had any...

I'm chomping at the bit for pics here!! :

SO I sent him and email this morning.. all nicey nicey saying I was desperate to see the boy and had he had a chance to take any yet as I go on holiday on sunday etc...

Am I being pushy? rude?

I mean if he didn't want to do it he should have just said!!

No not at all, think the answer lies in HE, men just don't get it sometimes. I am sure he won't take it the wrong way and will hopefully send you some pics soon, I'd do exactly the same.

TBH I would be fuming, wouldnt mind at all the breeder saying "no,dont want to" but CANT STAND people who dont do what they say!

Maybe they have just been busy and not got round to taking/sending them yet.

I do understand your frustration. On behalf of the breeder it may be difficult for him. When you let a litter of puppies out for cleaning, feeding etc they are everywhere like little gremlins and they are impossible if you are on your own.

When we had our litter it was so very time consuming and rounding them all up was impossible unless you had help.

What I would be more concerned about is identifying the puppy to make sure you get the one you choose. They change so much. Unless the markings are very distiguished it's hard for the breeder to know which dog is which. As my new parents came, I shaved an agreed shape and patch on their puppy so they knew it was theirs. It was the only way I could 100% know they had got the right one.

I would talk to the breeder and ask how they are identifying your new baby, just ask the question and if you are not satisfied, they get down there and shave some fur off.

[/ QUOTE ]Hi Filly,

We know which one is our pup because he is the only boy in with a surrogate mum, his brothers/sisters are in with real mum (she had 16!!).. plus he is twice the size of the others!! LOL!!

As for the breeder not having time, IMO he shold have told me that at the time.. I would have understood... but false promises only cause disappointment.. HOWEVER he has apparently taken the pictures.. just waiting for them to be re-sized.

In defence of your pup's breeder - raising a litter of puppies is VERY time consuming - particularly when they hit the 4 week mark onwards - there is barely time to do the basics without worrying about taking pics for all the puppy buyers ( and remember you will not be the only one !). - I hhad one prospective owner who phoned me twice a day wanting updates on her pup

- others who wanted to visit at all hours of the day. Be patient - I'm sure you'll get your pics as soon as your breeder can catch their breath
