if you've got a big ring really go for it in the gallop...
try not to 'show jump' your round... it's meant to be hunting pace..
always adknowledge (sp?) the judge before jumping...
When you enter the ring, enter at a nice working trot.
Remember to thank the judge when you start and finish.
Keep a consistent pace when jumping and try and make your round 'flow' rather than keep checking your horse before a jump, but at the same time try and show control if your horse is fizzy.
When you have finished your round try and return to the judge in a nice line, where he can see your horse move and halt and salute. Manners go a long way if needs be.
For the showing keep it simple and try and use as much space as possible without hiding behind jumps. Watch some of the other competitors before you so that you can see where he is lining them up, that way you will have a good idea of space.
Practise your gallop at home and your horse coming back to you.
To end, halt at the judge and do a couple steps of reinback, then walk forward again and salute.

Personally, i've never seen a rein back in a wh class before!!! Just keep it nice & flowing & controlled!!

I never used to do it until when we started doing county level when I was a teenager I went on like a masterclass with a County judge (can't for the life of me think of his name, it's on the tip of my tongue
When doing the show part he pointed out that a controlled, level rein back at the end of your show, showed that your horse was controlled, responsive and obedient as they are expected to be on a hunting field, plus you never know when you may need to use rein back whilst hunting............ Just what I was taught, no one HAS to do, it just goes along way with your horses manner's score.
