We found a new horse and he arrives shortly
The story goes like this;
My nan died back in early September, leaving my mum and my Aunty her money (not a vast amount but enough) So the first thing my mum decides to do is go shopping for a new horse
She had to retire her 22 year old T/B back in the spring and we only have Boo but she def can't ride him
She needs something that is going to look after her, not misbehave and be very genuine, as she is 63!
So I start trailing through the ads and found 3, all very similar, strangely all chestnut! Not really bothered about colour but they all sounded suitable. The first one I rang up about needed to sell asap and as it takes a while for probate etc, that particular horse was a no no. So I ring up about the second one and he is in North Devon, where I live, I asked a load of questions about the horse, explained that we wouldn't be getting any money very quickly and asked him if he'd rather us not waste his time until money was readily available but he said it was fine and to come and have a look as we were so close.
So mum and I go and see horse, he was described as 17.1hh 9 year old t/b x by Primitive Rising..............more like 17.2 +
he was HUGE. Anyway, I asked the groom to ride him first, which she did, she did some flatwork then had a pop over some smallish showjumps. Once I'd seen enough, I jumped on board, OMG, it was hilarious, it was like riding an elephant
so I did a bit of flatwork *snigger* then had a little pop then got offered the chance to put him over some xc fences which they have
That was it SOLD, I loved him xc, felt fab.
After that mum and I went away for a discussion, decided we'd like our trainer to go and give him the once over, which he did and again LOVED him, especially for mum, as he is so laid back, he's almost horizontal!!
So we decide we like and told the owners we were definately interested, and made arrangements for mum to go and ride him, which she did and again, loved him. So we decided to go for it subject to vetting.
We then made an appointment for the vetting to be done, which was done and he passed, so that was the final hurdle other than actually paying for it.
So here we are just waiting for the money to come through and when it does and he arrives, will post pics for you all to see.
