So I'm not having any joy whatsoever in trying to find a livery yard in North Essex / East Herts (I'm v.near Stansted Airport) that can accommodate a really nice natured, well mannered and handled weanling colt until he's gelded and recovered....I'm sure he can't be the only blummin colt in the entire area but that appears to be the case so far!!

What do people think are the chances of finding a smallish pony gelding companion on a temporary summer grazing only basis to keep him company here at home??

I've got three paddocks totalling just over an acre here and I wouldn't charge for the grazing, but would insist on a written agreement. Can't really be a lammi risk as my paddocks haven't had a horse on since July last year, although I can strip / circle a la paddock paradise if I have to, but would need to buy hay at cost

Is this a mad idea and should I just keep trying to find a yard?

Help!!!!!!

I think good idea.
You can keep your colt at home and im sure there is someone out there who would find the situation ideal.
Maybe an un rideable horse or one that needs sometime off

Thanks, glad I'm not totally barking up the wrong tree then!

Will hit the tack shops and feed merchants when / if the bugger passes his vetting

Ask your local welfare centres. tell them its only short term but im sure they would be grateful for a horse being looked after for 6 months.
