Okaaaaay then! Elemental horses... Heard everything now!

Ye gods, what a load of tosh!

Hmmm,
The alkalizing quality of salt helps balance the acid nature of high protein and carbohydrate diets.

but..

salt increases the production of hydrochloric acid in the body,

And if you give too much salt to a metal horse, won't it go all rusty?

:D

Well actually, salt is one of the lacking minerals in horses diet these days.

Like us, horses do need a lot of salt in the diet. Provided by either a salt block or a teaspoonful in feed.

I don't buy all that gumpf but I do buy that horses need more salt than we think.

I'm very confused. I thought a water horse was a hippopotamus?

I just leave a salt lick out for them, they can then regulate their own salt intake, they've all been seen to lick it, so all know it's their and what it is :)
