Hm.

What's the going price for an Albion K2 Jump saddle. Brown. Hardly used(!).

Hubby paid £1200 for it.

Ouch.

Also in Comp Riders as I need all the guidance I can get

Have a look on Saddlesdirect.com as I think they have a few of those (well did a while ago when I was looking) so you may get a good idea!

Can I just ask how you came to spend £1200 on a saddle without having it fitted?
I've just paid £375 for one off ebay (not a K2 but an albion) & that's scarey enough, even though its the same size as one I know fits the horse !
Did you see the thread a while back about the top riders using the same saddle for just about everything they ride? They just add or remove numnahs accordingly !

. The saddler would take it, as it's in such good condition, but hubby would like either me to use it, or more than the saddler would trade it in for. Gawd, it's all very complicated lol.

The saddle was fitted to my last horse, but she sadly had to be pts (she was only four). Hm. So, when I got Dizzy, the Albion was kept in the hope that it would fit her. Had it fitted to her just before Christmas. It was fine

But now Dizz has changed shape quite dramatically and it no longer fits at all

. There is a chance it will again, but for now it's rocking on the points of the tree, causing great angst on downward transitions

. Unfortunately the shape of it means that extra padding won't work (we tried a Nuumed saddle K2 saddle cloth, half sheepskin, and a Prolite pad.
 
If you have an Albion approved saddle fitter may be worth seeing if they'll do a PX then? You get a good deal that way because they get Albion enquires they know they'll move it on quite quickly.
K2s on Ebay seem to fetch very good money though.

Echo this. Don't see why you can't just get your saddler out to fit a saddle to Dizzy and use the Albion as a PX?

I am almost in exactly the same position as you!
Brand New K2 was fitted Medium by a 'Master saddler' recently, but my high withered TB started developing pressure marks, and the saddler wont take it back, as they say it fitted him when i bought it arghhhhh! The saddler offered me 2 options: Part exchange, but only to the value of £400, which I thought was disgraceful. Or they'll sell it for me for 45% of the selling price, again I was discusted!

Mine's immaculate and looks brand new. I put it on ebay for £750 (I paid £1100 for it and have receipts) Had no luck. I also put it onto some 2nd hand saddle websites, but had a scam buyer contact me, so I took it off them.

I'd be furious. I hope my saddler would be more understanding. How old is your TB?

As the saddle wasn't bought for this horse I can't complain too much. It did fit her for a month or so, but she has changed shape so much!

Ah well. Mine is back in its saddle bag, all tucked up nice and safe while I decide what to do with it.
