Or one with the fillers sticking out at an angle from the jump instead of underneath it?

Thank yooouuu

To be honest, i think the filler is meant to scare the rider....!

Okay that would explain it - I have never jumped a filler in my life LOL - I know you aren't meant to jump it differently, but it still scared me

Hmm i would say depending on the height of the filler, underneath the jump would be more scary as the horse may not be able to see where it is landing

yes good point...need to book a jumping lesson with fillers this time lol...

Just ride into them like a normal jump and believe that your horse is going to get to the other side (come hell or high water!!)
Works for me!! But then again my horse isn't that scared of fillers, its just the monsters on the edge of the arena watching her..

A filler like this is more to put the rider off. It does however provide a ground line so a horse can judge the fence pretty well. A viaduct wall is more difficult for the horse as the ground line is broken up & more difficult for the horse to judge the fence.

Yes see I didn't think we would get over it....and we didn't...then the moment I thought 'ummm that did NOT just happen'...and actually rode her into it she was super for the next 3 times we jumped it! TBH I was so shocked she refused that I circled her in pushed her into it without a moment to lose and we were fine - not stylish, but we did clear it lol!!
Hmmm yes those monsters are terrible....funny how they never seem to strike though lol!?! My horse is exactly like that....funny how she is fine with the dog hiding in the bushes tho....honestly!!

I ride fillers better than normal pole fences as they look more solid and I know my horse will only jump solid fences properly she can't be bothered with these poles that can fall down.

Is a viaduct wall the second one I mentioned? Sorry I am not good on the proper names

First. White to start with is the most scarest colour to a horse. Often when teaching over fillers I start with them at the wing sides and slowly bring them in. Works a treat. And the horse goes out telling all his four legged friend what huge white beasties he jumped...

Rider scary?? Really!! I haven't yet thought they would jump out and eat me like my horses...Hee hee..Don't look at the jump and nor will he, make it clear hes to jump it because if you hasitate he'll think hes doing you a favour by not jumping the beast... As soon as you can feel him take off...Look for the next fence and get in a nice rythem.

see my boy thinks that pink is the most scary colour he happily pops a white fence but wont go near a pink one.

Ive also had it with plastic bags when a binbag blew in front of him on a hack and the wraped itself round his ankles it was concidered something to play with, but a pink one sitting at the side of the road required spinning round and buggering off in the other direction, then lots of snorting and huffing when mummy wouldnt let him and insisted he go past it.
