Well after all the problems with his liver last night I found a swelling on his cheek. It was obviously teeth probs and i suspected an abscess (just had visions of surgery!). As I am still not sure whether he will go through another winter I did consider just calling the hunt rather than have another vet bill. What a nasty mummy I am!!! But luckily

I went for the vet option. He had a very wobbly tooth which has now been removed and he is a lot happier! Amazingly it hadnt stopped him eating but maybe he will put on a bit more weight again now.

As they were due for jabs and MOTs I got the vet to check over my other oldie. That was interesting. He has the most amazing heart murmor. Sounds like a foghorn! Vet advised me not to ride him anymore as he could drop dead any minute if exerted!

I explained to vet that he hadnt been ridden for 5 years due to foot problems!

It seems he's determined not to give you a quiet life! I'm glad this latest problem turned out to be something of nothing

Bless them!

My retired TB (with KS & N) got kicked a few weeks ago and the infection looked like it had healed them came back with avengeance (sp?). He eventually needed an operation to remove all the rotten tissue and infection in his knee - thankgod for insurance!!
