So my 16 year old boy is generally in good health, he is eating well and still up for having a play now and then, he has for some time now been experiencing twitching which the vet said was caused by something in his brain but was nothing to worry about but in the last few days he has been shaking a lot and he isn't cold so I think this is also something going on in his brain. Has anyone experienced this and if so is there anything we can do to stop it, thanks.

Demand from your vet that he is put onto daily Vivitonin,it helps with most doggy type dementias ,and I think this sounds like an extreme old age quiver. If the dog is otherwise happy you can make his last months or years much more comfortable for him.

Thanks, he seems quite happy just old, I have also noticed the quivering occurs when I get home from work and get up in the morning, so it comes on when he is excited, think a trip to the vets is in order.

Our old border terrier shivers when she is excited or worried. Also if she doesn't have her daily rimadyl for any reason her arthritis kicks in and she shakes more, so from pain I assume.
