My OH went to move my horse trailer the other day,and didnt hitch it on properly, and has broke the tow hitch.
My trailer is an old rice with the screw on hitch.
Has anyone got any ideas if and where i can find a replacement part.New or secondhand?

i have had parts from this place before and although the guy who i delt with me seemed a bit 'odd' i have no complaints at all.

might be worth asking about maybe fitting a newer style hitch to it if possible? I've been meaning to look into doing this with mine but have not got round to it. it still wont be possible to fit auto reverse but a non screw in lockable hitch would be far better imo.

My brother (mechanic) thought they were so dangerous (accident waiting to happen)that when I had my old rice he immediately replaced it with a Bradley double lock hitch. It was easy for him to replace and you can buy them pretty much anywhere.

Just about to ask the same Chunkytim,as i have just had a look on google and the ones i have senn wont fit my trailer.
Maybe you trailer is newer than mine galaxy23?Mine is roughly a 1980 model.

I forgot to wind down the screw on my old and very ancient Rice(1970s)....over a bump it popped off the ball, underran the landy, the emergency brake applied hard and all the cables stretched, and the screwey bit broke off. Luckily we were still on the drive! Area Richardson-Rice dealer sorted it all out, and renewed the electrics at the same time. Didn't need a new hitch. Tough, those old Rices.

It's the Bradley Doublelock on this page. I think it went on pretty easily, my brother didn't complain! They sell them in towsure.

My trailer was an ANTIQUE! Pre 1964!!! I found as as a panel got damaged and I needed it replaced and I contacted Rice and they told me by the dimensions, it had no plate. I had to get the new panel made.
