Hello

Does anyone know of anywhere to buy old style fly sheets - the ones made of rigid netting material that just sit on your horse, instead of these clingy new polyester things - like the green rambo flybuster (there are smaller/larger sizes out there of this make but not 6'3). Or I used to have a Mark Todd version that was great.

I've bought the new rambo one, but it just slides back and is tight around the shoulders. I've even got my sewing kit out and tried a few darts to make it fit better. Help! Bring back the good old days!

Exactly the problem Ive had with the sliding back thing! Ive tried 3 different types and had this problem so will be interested to hear what people advise. I was looking at that FlyBuster but they're rather pricey for what they consist of IMO.

Beavers Tack shop near Harrogate has a sale room with some old stock fly rugs.
They had some 5ft, 6ft and 7ft's - mostly master, but there were a couple of neckless Mark Todds too from a couple of years ago.
I'm sure they'd post one to you if they have your size.....

Oh Gosh - those green Rambo ones were the best. All of mine had them - never had any problems with them - they never moved, never rubbed shoulders, never rubbed manes out. I would love to get my hands on some of them again.
I haven't found anything to match them .

Thanks for your replies! SHAME!! I need a 6'3 one. I think I shall start a campaign to bring them back. I did email horseware but haven't heard anything back from them yet. I feel another mission coming along!!
I'll give Beavers a ring today and hope they have something hidden away.
Heh ho, its horse fly season too....

I use the weatherbeeta ones from about 2 years ago and they seem okay.
One i have is slightly too be 6'9 and horse would be better in a 6'6 and it slides back and is a bit tight around the shoulders. The other horse it fits well and it doesnt cause this problem.
I do have another weatherbeeta, a freestyle one, its white with like foam under the netting. Odd thing, bought it last year. Its really really good and sits perfectly.
Dunno if you can get these anymore, if you can let me know, as i'd like to buy the big horse one.
Good luck on your quest.
