Is there anyone out there who knows where I can have heavy-twill,flared riding-breeches made to measure in the North-West or North Midlands at a sane price? My tailor closed down years ago and London is out. John Hardman

My husband had some made by best boots, they can send you some to try and you can send your measurements to have them made.

Sandon Saddlery in Hertfordshire has stacks of old flared hip breeches. Most of them moth eaten but may be worth a try?

Frank Hall in Market Harborough can make you some if you are feeling flush!
