Old style stall ball/weight for end of rope

I have googled with no luck. Anyone know what the weights are that go on the end of a rope they used to use in stalls years ago and if you can still buy them?
My horse is recovering from a fracture and has been cross tied. She can now come off the cross ties but I'd like to restrict her movement for a couple more weeks to help the fracture heal as well as possible. Thought this might be a good arrangement but I can't seem to find out about them.

I think someone on here got some made. They went some old woodwork chappy who knew exactly what she meant and made a load up. Can't find the thread now :-(

I call them logs. I got a suitable sized piece of wood and had a neighbour drill a hole through it - large enough for a rope but not so large said rope tied into a knot would slip through. Simples

Someone I know keeps horses in stalls the old-fashioned way and this is pretty much what he does. Only he drills himself, rather than asking a neighbour. :wink3:
