I'm in the process of thinking about painting my trailer. It just been fully serviced and everything is fine and dandy after getting the brakes fixed, which I think is great for it being made around the late 80's! I'm probably going to start with the inside first to see how well it turns out :). It's blue on the outside and I'd quite like to get the roof painted white at some point. The main reason I was asking about old trailers is that they're usually wood or something like that in the inside which makes them easier to paint, rather than the newer trailers that have a sort of 'plastic' inside. What paint and/or colour would you suggest? It's currently a very bizarre orange and yellow which is just too loud! Photos of anything would be fab.

I too painted my Rice trailer cream on the inside. We painted the outside with dark green Hammerite it looked amazing but the Hammerite nearly cost as much as the trailer.... I reckon plain gloss is a better option

Just to add to my other reply - i often bought whatever was on offer and it would cost me about a £10 if that to paint the whole thing :)
like today for example, I've bought some tins of black gloss that were a shops own brand - on offer for £1 each (quite large tins!) plus some Dulux 'one coat gloss' in a red and burgundy colour that was marked down to £1 a tin, but went through for 50p !!!
If i still had my trailer, i would happily paint it with either :)
My old trailer was last a lilac colour, as it was a bargin find and it lasted at least 6 years that i know of :)

ETA - i'm not some weird paint buyer btw! the black is for the bottom half of the stables and the Dulux stuff, i am planning on redoing some of the jumps/poles in spring :)

Thank you for your replies. I'd love to find somewhere that sold paint for £1! I managed to get some at half price for £8. It's in Magnolia so if it turns out too light I can at least use it as a base coat. You've just given me a great idea if anything's left over...I can paint some jumps!
