Random thread I know

But... whats the safest way to dispose of an old un-mendable whip.

Ive got one thats quite long and the horse I ride regualry (the Boulonais) bit threw the handle, (luckily spat the end out) its no good to me anymore, can't be fixed as somewhere on the way home I lost the chewed off bit. Im a bit worried about just putting it out with the rubbish (as Im not sure if it would be classed as an offensive weapon, esp as kids might pick it up, any suggestions?

ahh ok Ill bin it..

Only reason I was mainly worried as a while back a friend of mine had just got off the bus on her way back from the yard (she normally drives but her car had broken down) AND a police car pulled up beside her and asked her why she was carrying her whip (now bear in mind she was also carrying a grooming kit, her riding hat, had her jodphurs on, was wearing jodphur boots AND even had her horses wormer right on top of the grooming kit) AND it took a LOT of persuasion to explain to the police why she had it on her....it scared her silly as you can imagine, so I was a bit worried about it getting into the wrong hands, Im a worrier as you can probably tell.

Sounds like the Cops were having a little chuckle to me.:D

Is she what you might call good looking?

no (the bloke that stopped her was in his 50's) AND he gave her quite a stern talking to about how riding whips could cause a hazard!

Mind you us at the yard did find the story rather funny:D

Whats him being in his 50's got to do with it, lol. Take it from me he was having a laugh. If he wasn't he's a sandwich short of a pic-nic.

Well I guess him being in his 50's Id have thought that he would have been more likely to not 'lead her up the garden path'

Maybe he was just joking? but Ill take the suggestion and snap it into several bits - and bin it
