Hi everyone I have a little situation I need some advice about. Myself and my friend rented a yard but the owner never did any repairs, he shouted at me all the time for no reason and kept interfering with our horses. The rent for the yard was never late and he started to annoy us as he was always asking how much money we earnt and other questions like "how do you afford all of these horses" which really wasn't his business as the rent was always paid and the horses never went without anything.

As time went on my youngster got trapped in the mesh fencing and I told him only to have my head bitten off. Fences started falling down and we realised nothing would ever get repaired there. We found somewhere else and handed our notice in at the old yard to the yard owner. We gave 2 wks notice and the horses went the first week so that left us with enough time to move all of our things. The rent was paid up in full
to the end of the second week.

As we only have small cars we had to get a friend or a friend to come and move sone of the things with his land rover and trailer which he couldn't do until near the end of the second week. In the meantime I kept getting nasty emails and voicemails from the yard owner screaming down the phone about getting his keys back and when we were going to clean the yard up. I told him we were waiting for the trailer and it would all get done. I tidied the yard up and my friend took him back the keys and he has been calling me to everyone in the village and this has really upset me as it is a small village where everyone knows everyone and I have to go down the road where the old yard is. I'm really worried about seeing the old yard owner again and don't know what to do.

Sorry for the pointless post just wanted to vent a bit!

Why are you worried, if it's a small village, the people also know you and I don't think they will judge you at all and the old YO will soon realise that people all so know him and what a tight wad he is. So hold your head up high and smile if you see him, and I bet he will soon be realising he's lost good rent money or it could be he wanted you off, so he could sell said property without a sitting tenant, which is what you were in a way.:):):)
