Hi

After a hooney around the fields today my mare (20 years old) coughed up some phlegm, it was completely clear, and with one cough gone, she was absolutely fine, nothing coming out of her nose, breathing sounded fine too, toddled back into her stable and tucked into her brekki.

I've seen her do it twice in the past 3 weeks, once after a youngster tried to have a go at her, so she turned on a sixpence and told the youngster in no uncertain terms that it was not on, and then this morning. to be ridden she sounds fine, and isnt showing any discomfort or difficulty in breathing, although when i initially start riding her she does have a good blow through her nostrils.

is it likely to be an age related thing, or do you think i should have the Vet to her?
