Just picked up a schedule for the above in my local feed store. I presume its xc type jumps but in an indoor school, does anyone know any more about it?
What a shame, it does look good and would do it on mine but I am away that weekend due to field trip with uni, just typical as the event is 5 minutes from me
I've just had a look - there's one at our local venue.. it's really tiny though and only just fits in a short SJ course so can't imagine it will be too fantastic..
Thanks for info. Yes our local venue isn't very big so can't really see how it can fit in many impressive xc type jumps. They also have all 8 classes scheduled so might be a very long day! Will see what other people think when they start in September.
All looks very interesting, what what exactly is it?? a publicity drive for Oli Townend?? I don't remember another rider ever having their name to a serries of events?? has he sponsored it, or just thought up the idea for it??
I know you win a day with him... but what is the point of it for him? i've never heard of another eventrider, or any 'pro' rider (dressage, SJing, racing erc.) have a serries of shows/events/classes across the country named after them... Why Oli Townend
The dates are on the website listed under each venue.
It says something about the classes being for 'Under 20' and 'Open', then down the bottom of that section it says riders must be under 12, 16 and 20yrs. So can oldies like me do it?
As I can understand it there are classes at different heights, each split for age category and open. Presumably the open section is for "oldies". My daughter is quite interested in doing it but the entry fee is high £18, if you only get one round. Not quite sure what OT gets out of it , but the prize at the final is a days training with him. It has quite a few sponsors so with the entry fees quite high I suspect someone will make some money out of it. The web site has lots of info but doesn't actually say how the event will be judged - the rules page is blank!

Well there is the Pessoa series in SJ'ing with a prize of a weeks training with Rodrigo for the league winner
He does tend to sponsor a XC fence at a few events over this way - always has one at Aske, and an advertising banner on the side of the SJ arena. A good way to get your name read out on the PA system every time someone jumps it......
LOL he was told he really "should" sponsor a fence at Aske a few years ago becase he won so many intermediate sections he took home all their prize money. They thought he should put somethign back into the event!
