After a week of feeling pants due to illness today was the first time I actually got to sit on Snoopy in a week.
I lunged him yesterday and he was mental!
So this morning we left for Northampton and an hour or so later we arrived. The new indoor school 70x40 is pretty impressive!!! and snoopy went in a little bit spooky but bless him he was very well behaved.
The other 3 members of the group arrived and Ollie started the lesson.
He got us practicing transitions and leg yeilding snoop being his argumentative self did it but without telling me he knew what he was doing
From this we went into canter, Ollie asking was I happy with my transistion, well actually it wasnt bad lol but he said it wasnt good enough, so asked us to do it again - this time much better.
Anyway, then moving onto jumping we popped a x pole - this time Ollie asked the group what standard we were at. When I mentioned that actually Snoop was only 4 he looked quite shocked and then said, actually hes rather good for a 4 year old isnt he lol
We then went on to a small upright, but snoopy again being his opinionated self knew best and was difficult to turn but jumped well. Then Ollie asked if he could sit on him
OMG!!!
So I gave him a leg up
*cough* BBS Goes weak at the knees lol
He rode him around and said that it wasnt the jump that was the problem but him falling through his shoulder making him difficult to turn.
He also picked up that i need to keep my hands lower when jumping and when asking to halt.
He said *hes an opinionated little sod isnt he* lol but he jumped bootfiul for him and pulled up without throwing his head around. He gave me loads to be getting on with.
He then went off on a jolly and jumped all the fences around the arena - I did wonder if i was gonna get my horse back
lol
I then got back on - Ollie Townend gave me a leg up
We then worked on linking the fences together and straightness.
Snoops got to lead the ride and do all the bigger fences well, I was chuffed to bits with him seeing as i havent jumped a fence on snoopy for over 4 weeks and I havent actually sat on the horse since last Sunday.
I am positively bouncing around the house atm, Ive had such a great afternoon and dead chuffed with my boy.
Right ramblings over, will try and upload a couple of vids of the session later.
