Olympia musing - lots of horses slipping

When it was replayed again I am fairly sure it was confirmed he had lost two. How did they come off so easily? And the rider carried on too - though I am sure he knew for he visibly reduced the pace.

ETS: I am not very competition orientated but watching Olympia, it seems that a lot of them just hang onto these flighty horses mouths - they are obviously strong but it seems none of them can do a round without atleast one gadget, a million bits of metal and having their hands hanging in mid air. But I won't start that debate again.

Also saw was it Robert Smith (correct me if mistaken) who took a flying gallop into one fence. The horse was very honest to have even attempted it and managed to keep most of it up.
