Olympia programme alteration

The Olympia schedule is now available on the Dutch Federation website www.knhs.nl and shows that the Saturday evening programme is different from what appears in the publicity brochure sent out by the organisers. The Masters is now the 1st class of the evening, and the last class is restricted to the British riders. I can only assume that this is because of travel difficulties for the overseas competitors. This seems to me to be poor planning and will not offer best value to people for whom the last night of the show will be their only visit. They will see 7 riders in the Masters and presumably 11 (the number of British riders due to be in invited) in the other.
 
Just went back to the Olympia website and the full programme listing gives the British only class as the 1st of the evening and the Masters as the last.
 
The Masters is the last class of the evening, the dutch federation have put up the provisional timetable.
When organising World Cup shows such Olympia, you also have to take into consideration what the sponsors needs are, as well as the general public. Because without them the show would not be able to run.
 
I think sponsors would prefer the show to provide the public with accurate information, and I doubt that sponsors specified that they would like to hold a class restricted to the British riders.
 
Well it was in their contract and they loved the idea, they sponsor the whole Saturday so I think from a european view they have everything covered.
 
It's great that H & M sponsor the whole of Saturday. I still believe that the paying public is entitled to be given correct information about what is on offer during what may be their only visit to the show. I believe that it is wrong to schedule 1 performance with 2 classes which by their nature involve only a small number of riders.

I also hold to the view that it is more likely to have been the proximity to Xmas making travel arrangements problematic for the overseas contingent which led to the Brits only class. I am pleased for the British riders to have an opportunity to increase their winnings, but sorry for the fans who have paid to see overseas riders.
 
I don't like just British Riders in classes at major shows as I am not being funny you can go to Towerlands to watch these classes for free and it is good to see where we are aginst other riders. At least they will win some prize money I suppose.
Bring back the fancy dress, that will be far more entertaining!!
 
Yes the Fancy Dress used to be a real highlight, paired with the Grand Prix on the last night. A lot of work went into some of the comedy acts, and it gave the public the chance to see another side to the riders' personalities. I think it was dropped because fewer and fewer riders (particularly those from abroad) took part. Some overseas shows do still include a Fancy Dress/speed class.
