Grrrr.... Being a resident in the borough where the Olympics take place I had hoped for some tickets in the first draw... and got disapointed.

So, I tried again today when the equestrian tickets went on sale at 11.00. I was logged in and ready to go, trying for x-country and jumping. The system crashed within seconds of me trying to make a purchase and I have once again not got any of the tickets I wanted.

Seing I am clearly not going to benefit from the flipping games I don't see why I should be putting up with the hassle either.

Anybody interested in renting a nice 2 bed flat with parking during the games?

gggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Aww really sorry to hear that - its so frustraiting isn't it. You'd have thought that someone who was going to be hugely effected by the games who wanted tickets would be able to get them!

Instead all the hassle and none of the fun :(

Are you able to get modern pentathlon tickets? Not quite the same but I really enjoyed the test event show jumping (although it is sometimes a little bit like watching car crash showjumping!) could be worth a shot?

I was disappointed too, but for a different reason. My friend promised she'd get me tickets, so we could go together. She posted on facebook saying she'd got tickets and I was so excited. She then told me "Oh sorry, me and mum are going."
Furious!!!

Sorry to hear about your tickets :( it's so annoying!

More to add!! The ticketing system in general has been shocking! We've got one person on here saying they want to sell ticket to x country but can't (in CR thread) one or actually lots I imagine who'd love to buy them but can't - how they've managed to make such a mess of it I don't know.

The website is still showing that dressage tickets are available in the eventing and pure dressage obviously if jumping is your thing then you might not be interested.

I got nothing for a second time. I had the cross country tickets in my basket at 11am but it crashed out while processing the payment. It sent me right back to the start and I tried to buy them again but they were all gone. I then tried for various dressage and sj eventing tickets but got nothing. Im a teaching assistant and can't afford 195.00 for one dressage ticket :(
I phoned the helpline and the lady I spoke to acted like I was wasting her time and she told me to go and buy something that was left.
I'm absolutely devastated. I've dreamed of going for years now.

According to the website there are still dressage tickets for £20 in both the eventing and the pure dressage or maybe there is a mistake?

Only £95 tickets remaining :(

I understand more tickets will be released on the 29th but will there be any for equestrian events? And how will the system work this time?

Sorry for those who didn't get tickets this time around. I didn't get the xc tickets I really wanted but was lucky enough to get dressage and sj ones. It is really gutting I know and totally confusing system. There did seem to be a lot more tickets going this time around, but whether that means the same will happen again next time is another matter.

I hear there is another re-sale window opening up as well. Can't see what the problem is with people transferring for face value, not making a profit, and how on earth would they monitor that anyway? I think they are after ticket touts, not individuals who pass on the odd ticket. e.g. people ave bought a group set, and are taking friends, so I don't see how they can really track whether people has re-sold or not.

Good luck for next time though

Sorry too. I was lucky this time around although I aged somewhat during the process with innumerable tries to get some as I wanted to see any part of the eventing.. But as I was so hugely disappointed last time I do understand.

They are obviously holding tickets back for different sweeps for sales so you still have a chance when the last ones go on sale so GOOD LUCK!!!

There is another resale I think and with the no reselling privately, they're gonna monitor it by having the card holders name on the tickets and they mst be available for contact on the day if it's not the card holder attending, to confirm they have given the tickets away. Means touts wont/cant do that effectively and will hopefully stop a black market of olympic tickets developing!

But they do say as part of that that if you choose to give your tickets to family and friends you can do so. As long as the buyer is available.

I expect it's to avoid thousands of people trying to meet up outside the venue if 4 tickets are under one name.
