Olympic tickets - anyone else annoyed that..

Was going to apply for the eventing, but then realised by the time I paid for travel plus the exaggerated cost of accomodation, it would be cheaper hosting a Olympic party and get everyone I know around to watch it on TV! No substitute I know, but it was going to cost over £400 for a weekend and thats alot of horse feed.

Remember that the big companies such as Visa are paying an awful lot of money to be Olympic sponsors - so a certain number of tickets will be covered in their sponsorship package.

How else would you have done the ticket allocation for the very popular events? This way everyone who applies has the same chance.

I do feel that the sale date should have been closer to the games - to pay over a year in advance is a very long time. Obviously the cost of putting on the Olympics is huge, but a ticket close date of the end of this year would have been far more sensible IMO.

I think it is ridiculous the way the tickets have been sold, there is no way I am putting my visa details on that site a year before the event.

I just don't know why they couldn't sell tickets in the normal way, they just needed to limit the number of tickets you could buy.

I expect tickets will be available next year, I will wait and see, if not I will be happy to watch it at home.:)

Yeah i want to know.
have i got them of not!

As for paying so far in advance i think its acceptable, they need the money to continue organizing the Olympics and we get to spread the cost of tickets, travel and accommodation etc.
