Hi All,

Horse is fed baileys ease and excel no.21 and speedi beet currently, plus adlib hay. She is looking good currently, however i would not want her to loose any more weight. i was considering putting her on to Omega Rice as well? She was treated for ulcers in march last year so i do have to watch for startch content in her feeds.

This is my first full winter with her, so will definitely know for next year that she goes quite lean during the winter months.

Thanks All

I have also used Equijewel it's normally always sold in most feed shops, I have used it on a few horses with really good results and some didn't even need it all the time and have mainly used it in winter or if they are working hard and showing, so you might find once the spring starts you probably won't need to feed it.

Copra is useful for weight gain or management. I use Equi Jewel for keeping an old boy in nice condition. It is useful stuff as your don't need much so the old lad who doesn't like huge amounts of feed in his bucket finds it easy to eat. Veteran and Vitality is another good one, they don't have to be old to benefit from it.

Do you know if this is suitable for ulcer prone horses?

I just did a quick Google and it says that it reduces acid secretion and provides a good lining for the stomach, but I suppose it would be nice to hear from someone that has had experience feeding it.
