My boy has windsucked since at the racing yard as a 4 year old. He is now 17.
He has a history of IBD, this is managed as part of the investigations into his IBD. He was scoped and this was clear. He still windsucked. After around 6 months later, he had a trial on omeprazole 1/4 as we had left over money. Though his IBD was stable. The omeprazole drastically reduced his wind sucking. Though he didnt have ulcers.
omeprazole blocks stomach acid. So i wondered if the windsucking was more due to pain from the acid? He is on a los starch and sugar diet, high oil and Chaff for his IBD which remains stable. But ideally i need a supplement that does the same as omeprazole.
