Today did not start well. The big chap spent last night eating other horses' breakfasts, sleeping in the indoor and judging by the cut on his face, generally being where he shouldn't. Big worry as I KNOW his kick bolt was on last night as me and a friend left together and double checked!
Went off Arena Eventing with a turbo charged cob who was full of god knows what. But for once I actually rode rather than passengered due to nerves - because I was expecting fireworks due to the turbo fuel!
Dressage lovely, arena bit of the jumping lovely (although a tad exciting wih some nice big bucks) , 1 stop on the xc bit (always stops at the 1st 1 but at least today only refused once) then as I galloped across the finish line to try and make up time he went into complete, total, utter rodeo mode. At a full gallop!!!!
Luckily he just broncked and no twisting so I stayed put and only 1 thing to do - PMSL!!!!
Over the moon to be 2nd but wondered how I did it given time faults.
With a dressage penalty score of 38, which worked out same as 81% score.
(Falls over in dead faint and then forgets age and bursts into tears).
I got a 9 for my riding. I am going to frame the sheet.
Even if judge being very generous we were still 13 penalties in front of the next. It felt like a good test but OMG.
Great big hot choccy with marshmallows and a bar of galaxy for getting this far and indulging me.
