Following on from my post about my late dressage time.
I went to Aintree last night and competed in Novice 22 he warmed up but not as nice as he normally does so we went in and he was on a mission although he stayed on the contact and did everything i asked i felt he was too forward and lost balance as a result. His Medium canter was that forward i really thought we were going to leave the arena.
I came out thanking god i had made it through in one piece and saying it wasnt the best test i had ever ridden.
I waited for the score and to my surprise i got 74.48% which is just amazing i have never scored over 68% in a novice before and have only just moved up from Prelim.
There was 26 Seniors in the class and the top 6 were 70% and over so the judge wasnt marking particularly high with the lowest score being about 56%. I finished in 2nd place to a Lady who got an amazing 78% and then went on to do the elementary. It was a qualifier with the winner only qualifying but because she had already qualified she could pass it down to me.
So all in all definitely worth staying out till 9.00pm on a Sunday night and missing Xfactor.
