I posted a couple of weeks ago because Flash is the biggest loner ever, literally all other horses hated him and he's never had a friend in his life...until today! There is a ex race horse on the yard who is Flash's personality double and equally unpopular! We took them out on a hack together this evening then turned them out for 10 minutes to see how they got on. It was so cute, they were walking round the field like siamese twins, nose to nose! Everything they did was in mirror image and they were playing together with branches they had stolen from the (unlit obviosuly lol!) bonfire (much to the irritation of YO's husband who had neatly stacked them up

). I will try to get some pictures of Dumb and Dumber if they continue to be friends, they really were so funny! They're exactly the same age and apart from colour (Jerry is bay) they are SO similar to look at, they're the pretty boys of the yard, the ones that everyone else refers to as 'she'. It's so nice that Flash has his first ever friend, and such a relief, as I was worrying that he was a social reject as well as a bit ADD!

Bless them - i remember reading your last post and felt sorry for the chap, i'm glad he has a buddy. Look forward to seeing the pics!

fingers crossed nothing goes wrong with it, I'm so paranoid about turning horses out together after losing a youngster after her leg was broken twice in 18 months by kicks!

We often ride past a field that has a mixed heard of horses / ponies in it.

We recently stopped to watch a little grey pony playing chasing and stick pulling games (like a dog, one on either end), with a large coloured cob, they were having a really great time together and are clearly firm friends, as they are always together whenever we pass.

Sounds like Flash has a chum for life to me

Flash is a bit like a puppy, he plays with anything he can get his teeth into and loves running round with branches, balls, buckets etc and he is such an attention seeker (read annoying little bu99er), so having a friend may stop him chasing the poor dogs and following people round everywhere tipping over their wheelbarrows or snatching the poo bucket up and throwing it the second you turn your back!
