I am a regular reader of the Fugly horse of the Day Blog (http://fuglyhorseoftheday.blogspot.com/) and she wrote about this story of some Americans breeding 'one last foal' from this mare who had suffered from dropped pasterns during her last pregnancy. They were so desperate to breed her even though there was a risk of it happening again.
I have to warn you this really is horrible, but I cannot believe just how greedy these people are. Although they attempt to justify their actions, I just find it so utterly appalling that this mare suffered just because they wanted another foal. Why they couldn't just leave her alone I do not understand.
