Oh I am so angry

Long story short... we had a jockey, now we don't. I sacked her cause she didn't listen and her mother was an over bearing nightmare.

I've just seen a photo of MY horse, MY horse, taken by MY daughter posted on some bl**dy facebook page by the ex-jockey. She's asked them to photoshop it so it appears she's jumping him bareback. I am literally livid.

This girl is touting herself round the locale as some sort of skilled horsewoman and offering breaking and schooling services to people! I can't believe she'd do this. Using a photo of MY precious boy to make herself look like some sort of velcro @rsed genius!!!

The horse had only been jumping for about 3 months when that photo was taken. He was taught to jump by a proper professional. We paid a fortune for it.

I know, in the grander scheme of things it's nothing, but I'm just so angry.

:(

It's really not worth bothering about then, she's a teen who's probably a bit narked at getting the sack. Tbh I never pay much attention to 95% of the stuff on Facebook anyway, its full of bs.

Maybe about 3 months ish. the photo was taken when she'd been riding him for a couple of weeks. Light riding. No intense schooling with great expertise!

At least yours has just posted a photo! The mother of mine entered my pony in her name for shows, thought she could juat take him home after a show and keep him on loan and when she was told to sod off she told everyone that she was buying it off of me at the end of the season . The first I knew of the sale of my pony by myself to her was from a farrier, then a vet, then a passing comment from the feed merchant and another shetland pony breeder. Never once did she neither ask nor tell me that she was buying him. Nutjob.

good lord, where do they make these people?! Mine had another of my ponies on loan and they changed her name. I thought that was odd! :D

Contact them and polity ask them to remove picture.
Copy right is for person who took it and picture is of something that belongs to you.

Or just post original picture bigging up the professional that schooled the horse and say horse even goes well for total novices!

Ditto above, think it's a good idea. The copyright has been infringed, contact them about it & nicely ask them to remove photo. If they don't I love the suggestion above!

Yes I would ask them to remove the photo for copyright reasons.

But come on - livid? You are livid that a teenager has done something silly like this then you are going to spend a lot of time being angry. Just chill a bit and try not to let these things get to you. I understand your annoyance but I think you are maybe over reacting. If she is as bad at training as you think then she won't get much business

lol **like**

i can understand your frustrations, my ex sharer has used pics of her riding my horse to advertise herself , i was peeved as she was making out she could bring a horse on /teach it to jump when in fact the reason i stopped her riding was because she couldn't handle him:rolleyes: i don't think she really meant any harm by it though she just had a higher opinion of her own ability than anyone else did;) at the end of the day it will be them who comes unstuck when they get put on a horse they really couldn't ride one half of!!

^^ This. Life's too short to waste strong emotions on triviality

mmm think I have seen the photo - is it a " light coloured pony" & is she jumping a particularly large fence???
IMO she is just being a teenager & thinks its funny.

I am livid, yes. Not because the silly little girl wants to docotor photos so she can lie to herself and other people but because of the background of the horse in question. She views jumping without tack as the pinacle of NH and perfection as an equestrian. My boy was previously owned by someone who thought the same thing and it ruined him. Ruined him to the point that earlier this year, after he nearly killed me, we made the decision that it was thousands of pounds of re-scholling or the meat man. Everyone thought we were mad but we took the gamble and it paid off. He's been re-schooled properly, I insist on classical methods of handling and schooling and the difference in him his huge. I would never ever ever allow something as stupid as attempting to jump this horse with no tack. Not ever. The ironic thing is the daft wee twit had to jump him in a kimblewick because he was so strong and such a novice jumper that she couldn't manage to steer him and he ploughed her through a fence!!

I don't give two hoots what some daft 17 year old wants other people to think but we all know the equine world is a very small one and I would literally shrivel with shame if anyone in our sphere saw that and thought I would condone it. That's what angers me. She got pictures of her own ponies she can have altered to her heart's content.

I did contact the FB page owner and they were very helpful and removed the picture straight away.

I do appreciate that I sound completely bonkers :D ;)

It's not a light coloured pony it's this...

Very annoying I agree but any twerp can see that this image is photoshopped.

She must be fairly stupid to think that this kind of picture would encourage anyone to send their horse to her for schooling. This would have me running for the hills with my cob in tow :)

What a daft thing to do. How odd they left the whip though, first thing I noticed.

Tucks his legs up well doesn't he :)

LOL, i did think it was odd that she didn't ask for that to go! He does tuck up well, everyone's very surprised with how well he can jump for such a tank :D Admittedly sometimes he's shockingly bad though!!

This is the original...

I would be just as annoyed with you!!

There is definitely a trend for inexperienced riders, usually teenagers advertising their schooling services on FB. A local girl near me is always advertising herself as a competition rider but she only competes at local level and at about 2ft 3!!

Gorgeous horse.

The pic is clearly fake/photoshopped, badly. Photos are funny things: you can't stop anyone taking pics unless the land owner tells them to and if she has it on her FB, it's difficult to insist on its removal. Yes, it's your daughter's property, but she's not a professional photographer (is she??) so hard to make the kid do it.

It looks obviously photoshopped, which is going to make her look like an idiot if she's trying to make people think she's some amazing rider.

Must say the 'velcro @rsed genius' bit made me laugh!:D

lol, if someone takes her on with that 'bareback' photo then they shouldn't have a horse ;) I wouldn't worry too much :)

I like the suggestion of showing how he's good even for a novice :D
