Iv'e got this on an email mail shot from horsemart:-

http://email.horsemart.co.uk/interf...e=emailCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=

What the HELL!!! Are they really advertising/pushing £500, two year old horses as an ideal christmas present for children???

This makes me sick, it is totally irresponsible and clearly aimed at novice people/people who have no clue.

It's worse then those little chicks or fish they used to sell at fairs.

For goodness sake. I knew there was a reason I never went on this site.

'A Horse For Christmas? Why Not?'

Errrrrr I think anyone on here can tell why not!!!!

This is a subscribed newsletter to an email address, can you reply with a complaint, its hugely irresponsible of Horsemart to print it, although as usual money talks !!

I have emailed "Horsemart" with the following response entitled Irresponsibe advertising......

Why is Horsemart encouraging people to advertise young ponies as christmas presents for young children, there is enough cruelty and irresponsible behaviour connected to the equine world without an established equestrian advertising company promoting it !!

May I suggest other people concerned about this advert do the same perhaps it might prick someone's conscience...thank you to the person who posted this on here and bought it to the attention of geniune horse lovers.

Well as a marketing exercise it certainly worked.

I bet the hits for the site have gone through the roof.

I just looked on there and I haven't done that for years.

Agree its stupid and irresponsible though.

I was shocked - thought it must be a joke/spam but NO !

Even my OH who is not horsey at all - in fact very disinterested alot of the time - said complain !!

I wonder if the owners of those horses being offered in the email are aware ! I would be livid !
