Albion K2 Dressage Saddle

I wasn't intending to purchase another saddle, but my current saddle has had quite a lot of wear and I have heard good things about these.

The saddle is brand new, never been used and in immaculate condition. 171/2 inch seat on medium narrow tree.

I won the item for £503 plus postage!

Do you think this is a bargain?

Definitely a bargain! They usually rip you off with postage costs, but sounds like you got a good deal all in!

Very nice! Certainly a bargain!

As P_G says, just get it fitted.

Hmmm, that's Be's size too... that would have completed my K2 set

It looks like a good price but I have a couple of concerns including that you are not covered by paypal buyer protection and the seller is charging a lot of money if sending by royal mail standard parcels which cannot be covered for the level of insurance you are looking for. If you are collecting then that wouldn't concern you though.

Having said that most transactions on eBay go through with no problem in which case you ave a good saddle for the money!

Thanks.

I took my horse to a saddler recently and tried on loads of different (new) saddles, including the K2. He was a narrow-medium fitting in it then. Luckily I looked on ebay shortly afterwards and saw this one for sale!

Do you think I should still have it checked by a saddler?

Yes. The fitting of a brand new saddle and the fitting of a second hand one will vary. Im assuming you took the length into account though.

Either way.. id most definitly have a master saddler round it

I agree my saddler told me 2nd hands ones can be messed about with so much. For instance I tried a second hand MM Albion dressage saddle, luckily the girl let my saddler check it. It didn't fit at all, however a new MM did fit

Get it fitted by a saddler just because you have tried a NM or whatever does not mean this one will fit! Not trying to pee on your bonfire or anything - just best get it checked.

You can pay extra to have standard parcels insured for more, up to about £500 I believe. If I were the buyer, I would try and get the seller to let me do that, shouldn't cause any extra problem if you send the extra money for it.

Thanks for your comments.

I will definately get my saddler to check the fit of the saddle before I use it. However, it is a brand new one and it has never been used so I wouldn't have thought it would be that different to a new one, would it?...
