OMG - my old pony is still alive at 34!

Well he was my friend's pony that she had when we were 16. We shared him a lot of the time - I would ride him whenever she couldn't and we would often go out with one of us on the bike.
Today my friend has just texted me to say she had a surprise call from this girl to say that Shadow was with her - alive and well.

My friend and I are now 41 - I often wondered what happened to him and I'm so pleased to hear that he is still ok.
My friend is going to see him on Sunday!

Mmm - it makes you wonder doesn't it? We only had Shadow for a couple of years as we both went off to University, although my friend did keep in touch with the girl she sold him to for quite a while and she did go and see him a few times but I know she hasn't seen him for about 20 years!

My first boy Lable was around until he was 37, and up until the very end he was as fit as a fiddle. Mum's pony, who she bought illicitly at Stow Fair when she was 14, is still alive today - Mum is now 47

I discovered that my old horse was still alive last year. She is very well and 30 years old. She was still with the same lady that I had sold her too 25 years ago.
 
Thats great and what a lot of coincidencies! I recently passed by the field where I last saw my old show pony, also called Shadow, looked in and there he was! I had been scared to visit any more, in case he wasn't there, but he looked absolutely wonderful. He is 29. Its also amazing because he was terrible to keep condition on and now I can see his neck is a bit poor, although not terrible, but he looks much the same as ever, and came trotting over with no stiffness or anything!

Oooer - how daring! I can't imagine what my mum would have said if I'd bought a pony from a fair without permission at the age of 14!

Anyway - I am so pleased for Shadow - he is a beautiful pony - 14.2hh 3/4 welsh 1/4 arab. And he was a beautiful dapple grey although I bet he is all white now.
 
One of the ponies on my old yard, 'pippa' had her old owner visit her last summer nd they hadn't seen each other for about 23 years i think nd pips remembered her!!! it was so sweet, pippa is now 31 nd my favorite pony alive, i got all emotional,

Well tears were in my eyes when I read the text from my friend that said Shadow was alive ... I get quite emotional quite easily!
