my usually very sensible, very easy to handle pony has sent me home hating him. (it wont last, i know!)

the council are putting up a bus shelter jst outside our yard and making a hell of a noise about it. when i was picking out my pony's back foot, he did a massive jump and kicked my arm by mistake. he's not usually jumpy, but i think coz he could hear it but not see it, he was on edge. anyway, i left him eating on the grass yard while i poo picked. when i got back to him he was desperate to get away. he was even neighing at me as i approached. he was standing by the gate, as i reached over to unhook his bucket, he spooked again and mustve swung his head round towards me, coz the next thing i know, i'm seeing stars. omg did it hurt. i had to sit down for a moment as i went all wobbly. anyway, i chucked him back out in the field and have come home. i was ffiing and blinding, but i know it was jst an accident. but crickey it hurts. just on my temple. so, its not jst them there hooves that can inflict pain, its their heads to. thanks council workers!

Ouchies!

My horse gave me a proper uppercut on my nose a month back when I was holding him after showjumping. Had to leave him with some unsuspecting woman so I could go get some tissue for my profusely bleeding nose.

its not really a headache. it just hurts where he knocked me. i thought a big egg would come up, but luckily it hasnt. i think i'm in shock, coz i keep crying! all the times i had problems with my other pony, rearing and messing about and i never got injured, then my quiet, placid pony does that. jst rubs it home how unpredictable our best friends can be.

My horse did this to me once. I got a black eye and a whack on the nose that hurts like something you can't imagine. Totally unintentional as well. I was turning her at the end of a trot up and something behind me caught her attention. She just swung her head round at top speed and got me smack in the face.

Its so easy for them to hurt us on the ground without even meaning to. I hope you feel better soon, these things happen and I'm sure your boy didn't do it on purpose.

Similar thing happened to a friend of my, her pony accidentally bashed her on the side of her head and sent her flying headfirst into the wall - she had concussion for a week !

I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt you

Hope you feel better soon.

Ouch! Sounds painful. Is your arm ok as well?

Have a lie down and take it easy - maybe some painkillers too.

thanks guys. i know it was just an accident. he was all on edge because of the machines. i had gone down with the intention of riding,, so quite glad i didnt, coz even tho he's pretty good about spooky things, something had obviously got him upset. he wud've been an arse most of the way round, desperate to get back and check his herd are ok!

OMG that's really strange my little unflappable 11.2 came in like a looney today, the big ones were ok, but he came in at a canter while i was at a walk leading him. How strange and there not building a bus shelter outside either.

Hope you come up with a really good bruise to make it worth all that pain

Sorry to read that you have been hurt. Hope you feel better soon. If you still have headache it would be a good idea to get checked out by your Dr or A&E please make sure you have some with you.

These things always happen when you least expect them! I've been hurt too many times to mention, but the most recent was in Febuary, it was quite funny really, tho potentially could have been rather awful. I was mucking out my horse's stable, I slipped on some wet rubber matting next to my mares water bucket, fell back hitting my head on the wall and landing with my head submerged in the water bucket! It was only when someone found my mare raoming the yard, went to put her back in her stable, and found me completly knocked out with my head still in the water bucket. I don't know how long I was there for, but i assume I was very lucky not to drown! woke up in hospital with a large chunk out of the back of my head. I've managed to piece together what happened due to my blood being on the wall where my head hit it. Was kept in hospital for a few days, and felt rather ropey for a couple of weeks. Just thought I would share that story to show it how it could have been worse! Can you guess i'm a typical blond, that would only happen to me!
