Just had confirmation from my friend that she had left her house on the lorry and heading for the ferry as we speak, and will be with me in the morning. We had a few false starts due to bad weather conditions, but tonight's the night. Exited but very very nervous. Having lost my horse a few months ago, this is so emotional. Its a new era, and time to say goodbye to the past and hello to the future. Starting a new relationship and lots of learning along the way. Yikes ! Can I still ride ??? My chaps don't fit me any more ! Flapping ?? Me ??

How exciting! What are you hoping to do with her? Hope you'll post a pic when she arrives :)

Im hoping to give her lots and lots and lots of cuddles. Oh dear - here come the tears. Im still gutted at losing my horse, so ive got absolutely no big plans other than to love her lots and lots and lots. And if that goes well, then a bit of low level dressage. I have a very good trainer lined up, but in the first instance, just an abundance of hugs :-) xxx

Oooo I can promise to take lots of pics. Ive freed up lots of memory on my phone so i can video her arrival in the morning. Snag is i have no idea how to upload them onto here ?? I will try. But in the meantime, imagine a rather woolly 15.1 black Welsh Sec D with white blaze and socks(yes from France - a story for another day). Shes really very pretty bless her xx

she sounds gorgeous!!! they are so pretty, i want the story too, we LOVE stories on here, i'm rubbish at pics but someone else can explain it to you properly i hope, good luck tomorrow.x

How lovely to hear that your aim is just to love her lots and lots! Sounds like she is landing right on her feet! Good luck!

I was about to ask. :p But I guess I won't now.. :)

I upload pics onto tinypic.com then use forum/message boards link. :) (copy & paste onto here)

Basically she belonged to my friend over here, who sold her to my friend over in France. When I lost mine a few months ago my friend said I could have her as I already know her. Buying a horse is an absolute minefield, as there really are some terrible horses out there, all described as being good in all respects, so having a horse I kind of already know, and I know the history of, is priceless. So shes now UK bound and will be here tomorrow. I cant see me getting much sleep tonight :-o

Ok, ive just realised that I sound like a right blubbering wreck (not far from the truth !) With my sensible head on now, shes a lovely 10yr old registered Sec D. Black with white socks and a blaze, and such a pretty face. Shes so very kind, and incredibly affectionate, but i know shes cheeky and will try it on. Ive never had a cob before, so this is all new to me, but she is perfect for me. I have a real love of dressage, and used to dabble, tho havent been out now for a few years due to a long 5 yr battle with almost constant lameness with previous horse. Hence my riding is very rusty now, and confidence taken a bit of a nosedive. I am proficient at bandaging though :-o !! But with new horse, and fabulous new trainer, and hopefully soon a new floor in the trailer, it would be fabulous to get our party gear on and get out and strut our stuff a little. I have a few raw wounds that need a little TLC, but this is going to help. So my feelings are very mixed - very sad to be saying goodbye to the past, and exited about the future.

Re new user name: you could consider Janus - the Roman god of looking backwards and looking forwards at the same time, and/or Ganesh, the Indian god of new beginnings. ;)

Does that mean I can come and say hello? Give me a shout if you want a hacking buddy

Yes, going to be getting out and about :-) I could do with tagging along with you as you seem to know some pretty good routes, but will need to get floor in trailer first (as am darned if im riding along that main road to you!). Do pop over and see her tho - you'll love her xx

Don't worry I can come to you :) I'll give time to get used to her again and then we can poodle up the plains! Ps nothing wrong with the A road!! :p well there's nothing great with it either but at least the whole yard is used to heavy traffic :)
So pleased for you, you could even take her up the road for the dressage in March
