I moved my lad to new yard a week ago today. I haven't really ridden him properly yet as he hadn't quite settled completely and was very jumpy, this combined with my nerves did not make for a good combination but today he came in from the field really calm and dopey so having the OH there to push me I lunged him in the indoor just to check he wasn't tricking me and was actually full of beans! . He wasn't and I had to really push him to keep trotting on the lunge so decided to get on. We walked, trotted and cantered several laps and I'm over the moon!

Considering before today I would only sit on him whilst he walked 1 or 2 laps then get off. Baby step I know to walk trot and canter a horse I've done it on a hundred times before but to me its been a massive step forwards! Sorry for the self indulgent post but I don't have them very often lol.
