On gate tickets Burghley - can you pay by card?

As title says really, do you have to have cash or do they take cards on the gate?

Sorry for stupidness, but haven't been for years and couldn't find the right info on the website.

Not been to Burghley but unless they're different to every other horse event cash only.

Good job I asked then, would hate to be the idiot who held up the car queue cos' they weren't carrying nigh on £70 cash around with them!

I have been before, never seen the stewards with little machines , so I assume cash only as they have money bags - you pay while you still in the car before you park..

They have the machines on the gates so you can pay by card.

However, being a person who is further behind in the queue with cash/tickets waiting, it can be very fustrating seeing people holding up the queue with cards, particularly as there often isn't enough machines if everyone at once wants to pay by card. From that respect, it would be faster for both yourself and the people behind you to stop off at a cash machine on the way
