My yard owner has told me that, depite confirming she could keep both of my horses over winter, that she's not sure whether she can accomodate my gelding. She's an elderly lady and has i think forgotten our earlier conversation when she said that he can stay

Im gutted, to say the least. Its the only yard I have ever been happy on. One of my best friends also keeps her horses there, so we ride and care for them together, shaing feed and whatnot. Its also near my work which is bloody ages away from home. I wouldnt have bought my newest pony if I thought for one second I would have to up sticks and move them. Apparently YO has promised two ponies can come this winter, which leaves it tight for space. I cant understand why, seeing as Im already there! that I am possibly being pushed out to make way for someone else

A lady we shall call X, who is very close friends with YO, spoke to me today about people I could sell one of my horses to, if the yard cannot accomodate both. Really made me angry, I have no intention of selling either of them, FGS, I've only had the mare a month!
Im already worried about whether I will get into year 2 of my degree this year, god knows what there taking their time over.

and now this. Im sure its trivial compared to a lot of peoples problems. But I cant sleep properly for worrying.
Sorry, rant over

Well I managed to understand it and yes it does sound like you are being pushed out. Old biddy or not I'd have to ask her, nicely, what the score was. Did you tell her you were buying 2nd horse?

Yes, I asked her if she had space for her before I bought her! I find it so strange, YO and I seem to get on really well, at least I thought we did..
I suppose I should have a long conversation with her and say everything I have said in this thread! Theres no way Im selling either of them so that she can have more liveries though!

Mite be speaking out of turn but....dont you think it a bit odd that you are being pushed out yet buyers are set up waiting??????Conveniant lady x knows the land owner dont ya think???stick to ya guns, dont step a foot out of line,if you have contract???which i am praying you do???keep em sweet and find somewhere else,i know it hard(bloody hard,i only had 1 to worry about)!!NO it aint trivial,YOU will get into yr 2 of ya degree because that is what life throws at ya,you will come out of it and you will be thankful you did!!!

(you will also be a stroger person for it!!!!!

Been there done that!!!PLEASE do not approach her unless you have alternative arrangements,i had a cup of coffee and a great pally conversation with who i thort was a great friend (thought wrong)demande off their property by her useless excuse of a man, that day, fortunately i had sorted another yard nd my hubby turned up to back me up!!Guess where the woman bully went.,..lmao,yep..hid from my hubby!because we can all move a horse in a DAY CANT WE?? I KNEW WOT WAS COMING!!
AS regard the YO and i thort we got on,4get it!!!!MONEY,gets on!!!

Are you a paying livery there? just asking as she cannot use the money excuse as you are paying what one of the additional liverys would pay anyway. Sit down and talk things through with her, and maybe after speak with your friend who has her horses there as well, she may think twice if you and your friend moved all your horses off her yard.

the one thing that jumped out at me was is this old lady expecting you to keep one with her and one somewhere else? i have a yard and have a new livery coming with one pony but she wants to buy another very soon and was worried about a stable, i have decided that i will keep one empty for her as she did tell me before moving in and i know she would not have been able to come to me if not. i feel that she is trying to push you out, and as for having a buyer lined up that is very naughty

Thankyou for all the replies. Found out today that I have passed the first year of uni so will be going back in october

Huge weight off my mind!
I spoke to YO today and asked for clairification etc. She said she will call the owners of a horse (who she is expecting to leave) tonight, to see if they are still intending to go. She says if they go I can stay. But to be honest this has really soured the place for me. My friend has said she will move if I do, and take her 4 horses with her. We have wanted to rent our own land for some time now, so bless her she is on action stations and looking for somewhere we can go, if it does all go pear shaped.
The more I think about the 'we know someone who would buy your mare' bit, the angrier I get. So rude... you just dont do that. Someone suggested I tell them the same thing about their equines, see how they take it!
Many thanks for all the support. I checked the post again late last night and was really touched by the replies. Youre all very kind.
Will post when I know what happening re: yard
