A big day to me, but small to everyone else!

Today I managed to drive myself to the yard, bring in (after getting him out of bed), groom and trim, get him shod then put him in his stable for the day!

This is first time I've spent any time with him on my own since my fall, and it couldn't have come sooner.

Having seen and heard about some of the falls recently online and people I know I feel very lucky that I only had a broken ankle and that only eight and a half weeks since doing it I am able to visit my horse. I'm 50% weight bearing now and in two weeks time I should be 100%.

The transition to full livery has been smooth and Major seems very happy - however I found it all a bit odd watching someone muck my stable out whilst I groomed my horse.

He is booked in with the saddle fitter for Monday, just to eliminate all possible routes of pain, something I should have done sooner - learnt that lesson though. Here are a few photos of the man himself.

Looking at the exact place I was led waiting for an ambulance a few months ago!
