This is a great rescue , which I know because Bobby the cat came from there and Mums previous two cats ( Mum always took old cats that were hard to find homes for ) .
They have a good reputation and I would have hesitation in saying that when and if they rehome this dog they will do it properly.
If this dog can be turned round they will do so .

I was chatting to my old vet about what dogs he had and he had a shih tzu, nothing wrong. With that but not really the classic single man’s dog!
He explained it came into the surgery years previously, it’s owners had had a child and the dog was 5/6 ish and they said it wouldn’t like not being number one any more and they couldn’t risk it getting jealous, could he pts.
They paid and left. (Dog alive, didn’t want to watch)
He called them later in the day, refunded the money and kept the dog, who he said was the perfect little house dog. He didn’t have kids so had no idea of it was or wasn’t a problem but it was irrelevant to him so he and little shih tzu just hung out together!

Edited to say obviously kept it with the owners permission
