Tootling round the village this morning, we met the entire, very excited primary school in best crocodile formation, on their way to their nativity play in the church.

All screaming 'HORSIE' at the top of their lungs and waving angel wings, tinsel halos, shepherds' head dresses and santa hats at us.

Bless my boy, he just looked at them, eyes shining kindly and carried on without turning a hair...

Sometimes they make you so proud, don't they? :)

Nice one! I think kids confuse horses... Mine always ignores them but another mare I ride thinks they are predators!

I think I was the only kid who didn't scream "HORSEY!" When I was younger :p
Instead I would be saying, in a quiet voice "Don't spook it, do not go behind it!"

Ahhhh, probably made some one little's day! We ride in a local NT property and part of the ride borders the garden. I had a similar response from a primary school trip having a picnic there untill my gelding decided to have a wee. It was one of those minute long grunty groaning affairs and he left everything hanging out much to the amusement of the small boys in the group.

I had something very similar last year, when all the kids were leaving school after an event, about 50 of them en masse.

I thought I was in for some fun'n'games, but bless him he just stood with his ears pricked and stared at them for a bit, as if to say "what the 4 by 2 is that", he then turned his head round to look at me, and make sure it was all OK.

This prompted shouts of 'ohhhh cuuuute' from the large multi headed thing on the pavement.

We then carried on as if nothing unusual had happened. He got some extra 'good boy' treats after that ride :D
