Hello

One last insurance question. Has anyone had any dealings with SEIB South Essex Insurance Brokers? Good or bad.

Bad. My tack was stolen from my locked stables. Before they would pay out, they insisted I gave them a receipt for every piece of tack. I only kept the receipt for the saddle. Not the girth, stirrups etc. They were very unpleasant about it. I mean do you have receipts for every single item of tack ?

In the end I claimed off my house insurance as the stables are next to my home. Direct Line got some money off SEIB for the saddle. Direct Line were brilliant.

good
they paid out very quickly when my horse fractured his splint bone out in the field.

most insurers will only pay out for recipted items. However my saddles too are ensured under the house insurance with direct line

SEIB are a reputable company basically but people will have good and bad experiences with all insurers to be honest. In tracey01's case unfortunately this can happen and is generally as a result of others who had submitted fraudulent claims and sadly people with genuine claims do end up suffering (being asked to prove values etc) as a result.

I work for another insurer but SEIB is one we will advise clients to go to if it isn't something we can cover. There are certain insurers I would NEVER recommend!

I have heard bad reports about Direct Line too (from a work colleague insured with them) so goes to show all people's experiences differ.
