One of my horses is terribly quiet. He's come out of his shell a lot now (when he arrived I thought he'd been drugged!!). He's perfectly happy and loves playing with his pal in the field and will give me affection. But he's SO polite. He prefers to walk behind me and always grinds to a halt to let me through a gateway / doorway first, he's never even thought about nipping / kicking / barging etc. Basically he's extremely polite but almost worryingly so!

Anyway, cue fire works on Saturday night - he was very worked up in the stable so I took him into the yard on a lead and stood with him which chilled him out a bit. In the hour I held him, he was a totally different horse. I guess because he was edgy. But he nibbled me, kept giving me "kisses" (I taught this but he only normally does it when I ask), kept nuzzling in my hair etc. these are things he just doesn't normally do! It was like he came alive and was "normal"! It was actually quite nice while it lasted but now he's back to normal

It's weird how something like fireworks allowed me to see a totally different side to him!
