My mare goes out every day for a few hours in the snow and is still lovely and white and fluffy when she comes in. Normally she's covered in mud from head to toe at this time of year.
 
good point!! only problem is when it starts to melt and it goes into that slush stuff that then mixes in with the mud.. and then it sticks like glue!! unfortunately that's what seems to be happening to the fields at the riding school i go to.. i feel lucky i'm not helping out there at the moment!!

When it was hard here was great, except the odd cut on the bottom of his legs, now it is crappy and muddy and really hard to put out hay, bring back the frost

Good point for me- no poo picking...but there will be a hell of alot to do when it defreezes :S and loving the clean horse

Freezing weather?We haven't got freezing weather, and the horses are knee high in mud. Fortunately the donkeys are not so muddy.
