one thing after another....

Just had real run of bad luckand feeling a bit glum

1) having broken up for xmas hols i was hoping to get out there get kitty fit etc. had hunting and sj dates lined up...all went down the drain due to flooding=very ltd. hacking etc. couldn't get anywhere in the trailer

2) a week a go my girlie tied up quite badly and so once again what we can do is limite. I just feel really bad about it as ultimately its my fault, but once again i was trying to do the best i could for her resulting in azoturia

3) I have noticed that over the last couple of weeks that kitty has had a few tiny scabs on her heels an fetlocks...this morning shes got horrible mud fever (sore and scabb all the way up from her heel to just above her fetlock on on hind leg and a few scabby bits on her over 3 legs inc. her black leg?)

just feeling a bit glum and needed to mope, thanks. doritos and dip for all who got this far

Hugs, things always seem to happen in 3s so hopefully your & your horse's bad luck as ended. I normally ride as much as possible but due to things happening beyond my control (work commitments, family bejng ill etc) l've not ridden much. I think alot of people have had issues with turnout especially if at livery. This has an affect on horses when there are limited facilities & they are unable to be exercised as much as one would hope. Then those that are turned out you worry about them getting mud fever etc due to the boggy muddy ground it seems like a no win situation. My field had to be rested in November due to the farmer coming too late to hedge cut for our landowner & chewed the ground up due to the soft ground & the rest field that l had to put them on hasn't enough grazing so they've been coming in some nights to try & save it. At least its after xmas now so the nights will be drawing out & hopefully springs round the corner so try & think positive even if everything seems against you at the moment.
